I fell off the smoothie train and I’m trying my best to jump aboard again. I’ve been feeling really cruddy and smoothies are a quick and easy way to get some of the things I know my body is lacking. Like fruits, veggies, fiber, protein… so basically everything. I’ve been at it for over a week and I swear, smoothies make a difference. In every smoothie I make sure to add a little something from each these groups: fruit/vegetable/protein/seed.
Raspberries and peas are two excellent sources of fiber. Pop them both in this smoothie along with some flax seeds, and you’re good to go! Errrrrr…… no pun intended there, folks. I just meant good to go as in to target… on a full tummy. Not go, like go to the… well whatever. You get it. But I mean really, you’ll be good to go either way. Haha! Ugh. Just make the smoothie ok? It’s got healthy stuff or whatever in it.
**Backyard robin and the grill update, in case you were wondering. My intimidatingly curious looking eagle pictures did not scare away my robin. Another great smoothie combo for the record books!
- 1 cup frozen raspberries
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup greek yogurt
- 1 1/2 cup almond milk or any milk
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
Blend all ingredients until smooth!
You can skip the yogurt if you don't care for yogurt. Try a tablespoon of cashews if you want some added protein.
