Ingredients
1tablespoonolive oil
1smallshallot, diced, about 2 tablespoons
1large clove garlic
1cantomato sauce,15 ounces
7fresh basil leaves,1 teaspoon dried
2sprigfresh oregano,1 teaspoon dried
2sprigfresh thyme,½ teaspoon dried
½teaspoonkosher salt
⅛teaspoonblack pepper
pinchred pepper flakes
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Saute the shallot and garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Add in tomato sauce and remaining ingredients.
Simmer 15 minutes, uncovered.
Remove from heat. Cool slightly before removing herb stems and transfering to a jar for storage.
Notes
Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, do not use if sauce shows mold.
