On cold days, there's nothing better than a warm bowl of gluten-free soup! I've put together a list of the best gluten-free soup recipes, so that you can create an easy dinner with delicious flavors, the whole family will love!

Tips for Making The Best Soup Recipes
- Use Shortcuts: Like rotisserie chicken or frozen pre-chopped vegetables. These shortcuts can save you up to 30 minutes of prep and cook time!
- Use Fresh Herbs: Fresh herbs have more intense flavor than dried herbs and can take your soup from good to gourmet!
- Woody herbs, such as rosemary, thyme, or oregano can be added at the beginning of cooking, remove the stems before serving.
- Tender herbs with soft stems and leaves, such as basil, cilantro, or parsley, should be added just before serving to preserve their flavor and color.
- Add a Garnish: A few simple garnishes like crumbled bacon, sliced green onions, sour cream, olive oil, or shredded cheese can add just the right flavor and texture.
Pantry Staples for Gluten-Free Soups
With a few pantry essentials on hand, you'll always have what you need for a delicious soup recipe!
- Gluten-Free Flour: Gum-free gluten-free blends, corn starch, arrowroot powder, potato starch, and sweet rice flour all make good thickeners for gluten-free soups.
- Gluten-Free Spices: Dried herbs and spices, like garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper add a ton of flavor.
- Gluten-Free Pasta: Use your favorite gluten-free dried pastas, such as gluten-free orzo or rotini. You can even make delicious homemade gluten-free egg noodles to go into your soups, with three simple ingredients!
- Potatoes: Soups are a perfect way to use up potatoes that are a bit past their prime.
- Gluten-Free Grains: Have a selection of gluten-free grains such as rice or quinoa to add heartiness and texture to your soups.
- Canned Beans, Lentils, and Tomatoes: An assortment of canned beans like black beans, lentils, and chickpeas are an easy protein to add to your soups. Keep canned diced or crushed tomatoes on hand for creating tomato-based soups or adding depth to broths.
- Gluten-Free Broth and Stock: While broths tend to be lighter tasting than stocks, which have more intense flavor, broths and stocks can be used interchangeably in recipes. Always check the labels on the package! Some stocks, broths, and bouillons do contain wheat. I have great resources for finding gluten-free chicken broth, gluten-free beef broths, and gluten-free bouillons! The same information applies to vegetable broth as well.
- Gluten-Free Soy Sauce or Tamari: Use gluten-free soy sauce or tamari to add umami and depth of flavor without introducing gluten.
- Gluten-Free Crackers: Remember to have some gluten-free crackers or croutons on hand for topping your soups.
